Trump Says Biden’s ‘Armageddon’ Comments About Russia Is ‘Saying Exactly The Wrong Thing’

The MAGA faithful turned out on Sunday in Mesa, Arizona as former President Donald Trump held a campaign rally for gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake and Senatorial candidate Blake Masters.

During the rally, Trump also criticized Joe Biden’s approach to the US response to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s recent implication that the use of nuclear weapons in the war with Ukraine was not off the table.

Biden’s Foolhardy Comments

Trump’s remarks were in response to comments made by President Joe Biden last Thursday during a private fundraiser, where he stated that Putin “was not joking” when he made veiled nuclear threats, and that, “We have not faced the prospect of Armageddon since Kennedy and the Cuban Missile Crisis.”

It was Biden’s use of the word “armageddon” specifically that grabbed attention, and it definitely got the attention of Trump, who stated at the rally, “We have to be very smart and very nimble. We have to know what to say, what to do. And we are saying exactly the wrong thing. We’ll end up in a World War III.”

“We must demand immediate negotiation of a peaceful end to the war in Ukraine, or we will end up in World War III and there will never be a war like this,” Trump continued. “We will never have had a war like this and that’s all because of stupid people that don’t have a clue. And it’s also because of the kind of weaponry that’s available today.”

Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo called Biden’s comments “reckless,” and echoed his former boss’ stance.

“When you hear the president talking about ‘Armageddon’ as a random thought at a fundraiser,” said Pompeo, “that is a terrible risk for the American people. He ought to be talking to us in a serious way.”

White House Walks Back Sparsely Covered Comments

The White House was left with yet another Biden clean up after he made the comments. Both the White House and Pentagon officials said that “no imminent threat” currently exists and that there are no indications that Russia was preparing for such an attack.

Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre also assisted in the clean up, stating “The president’s comments have been very consistent. He was reinforcing what we have been saying, which is how seriously we take these threats about nuclear weapons. The kind of irresponsible rhetoric we have seen is no way for the leader of a nuclear-armed state to speak and that’s what the president was making very clear.”

While the White House did damage control, the media yawned at Biden’s warning of possible impending nuclear war. In his Washington Examiner column, Byron York noticed that, “With the exception of the Drudge Reportwhich posted a big photo of a mushroom cloud, outlets like the New York Times and the Washington Post did not run banner headlines about the president warning of all-out nuclear war.”

The media did have a bit of a dilemma, deciding whether they should cover the POTUS seemingly warning about total nuclear annihilation or Kanye West and Candace Owens in Paris wearing “White Lives Matter” shirts.

You can obviously tell what the mainstream media decided to run with as the bigger story.

Offering To Step In

The ineptitude of the Biden administration has become too much for Trump to handle. Following the possible sabotage of the Nord Stream pipeline, Trump offered to head up a group to negotiate a peace deal with Russia and Ukraine.

There is little chance that Joe Biden would allow Trump the permission to go through with this. Trump’s response on Truth Social to Biden’s pre-war claim that if Russia invaded Ukraine, there would be no Nord Stream 2, was simply “Wow, what a statement. World War III anyone?”

With low approval ratings less than a month away from the midterm elections, Biden’s chief concern would possibly be that Trump would steal his thunder, and give Republicans a leg up in November, and may even think in some convoluted way that Trump would make the stand -off worse.

Then again, there is that statement by former Obama Defense Secretary Robert Gates that just won’t go away, in which Gates’ believed Joe Biden has, “been wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades. ” Hard not to think about Gates’ thoughts when looking at the current situation.

Trump is also too handy for Biden to continue to blame for his own disastrous actions. According to York, the last line of Biden’s quote that has not been widely reported was this, “I didn’t realize how much serious damage the previous administration did to our foreign policy.” Biden certainly isn’t going to throw away the one excuse that always seems to grant him leeway.
